a to z

March 12, 2012

Well, there’s nothing quite like a fun survey to kick off the work week! Janetha made this survey the other day, and I thought it would be a fun way to start the day. With that being said, here’s some fun facts about me!

A is for age: 24 years young – although from the time I was four I was acting like I was 35. Yes, I have always been that way. Weirdo.

B is for breakfast today: Oatmeal! I’ve started to stir in about 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt towards the end of making it on the stovetop as well. It makes for an extra creamy batch. Try it!

C is for currently craving: Mexican food. More specifically, refried beans. AND Love Grown Granola. I’ve been secretly anticipating my springtime shipment!

D is for dinner tonight: I’m actually not sure yet. I’m trying to decide between Mexican, a salad with roasted vegetables, or tofu and roasted vegetables. Decisions decisions….

E is for favorite type of exercise: Running. ::sigh:: I do miss it a lot actually. I know I stopped for a good reason, but I’ve been craving a good long sweaty run. Albeit, yoga and walking are my go to forms of exercise at the moment.

F is for an irrational fear: The Husband getting in a horrible car accident and him being terribly hurt from not wearing a seatbelt or something.

G is for gross food: Sauerkraut. Disgusting. I can still smell the nastiness from when my dad used to make it when he ate brats. Gross.

H is for hometown: A town near Chicago. That’s all you’re getting out of me, you crazy stalkers!

I is for something important: Family. I love when my mom has all of us for dinner on Sunday nights (hint hint, Mom).

J is for current favorite jam:What a Savior” by Laura Story – it’s pretty hardcore ;)

K is for kids: Just one fur baby, Charlie! He is a pit bull terrier mix and basically thinks he’s the center of our worlds. It’s pretty amusing. I don’t know what in the world he will do when we actually have human children. He’ll be beside himself.

L is for current location: My “office” – at the kitchen table.

M is for the most recent way you spent money: My weekly grocery haul yesterday. I only spent $65 and saved about $30! It was fantastic.

N is for something you need: New clothes because I’ve “outgrown” mine. Meaning, my butt has currently gotten too big for my current pants. I’ll need to do a capri and shorts run soon! I’d actually like a few pairs of these.

O is for occupation: Teacher by day, blogger/wife/fur baby mama by night. I pretty much adore all of my roles. Teaching allows me to watch kids grow and learn, blogging allows my creative juices to flow, and being a wife and mama to Charlie are ways that I can daily show them how much I love them.

P is for pet peeve: How about we just talk about what doesn’t bug me instead. Just joking… kind of. I hate slow drivers. Pick up the pace, Picante!

Q is for a quote: I’m a quote/song lyrics freak – so I can’t just pick one. However, this stood out to me today when I was browsing Pinterest:

R is for random fact about you: I’m left handed. Apparently that means I’m more prone to migraines (fact!), typically use the right side of the brain (fact!), twice as likely to be a man (false!), and live on average 9 years less than right handed people (yet to be determined.). Source

When I was younger, I had a shirt that said “I may be left handed, but I’m always right.” True story – let the Husband know.

source

S is for favorite healthy snack: Do you have to even ask that? Raisins and almonds – duh!

T is for favorite treat: Cupcakes or blueberry muffins (the not good for you kind filled with vegan butter and sugar).

U is for something that makes you unique: I’m sure the Husband could come up with about a zillion thins that aren’t too flattering for this category, but I just cannot think of anything!

V is for favorite vegetable: Oh this is like making a mother choose a favorite child. I’d have to say it’s a toss up between sweet potatoes and brussels sprouts though.

W is for today’s workout: A 30 minute walk with Charlie after school – it’s supposed to be gorgeous outside!

X is for X-rays you’ve had: My ankle in 4th grade when I tripped over a soccer ball during a game and chipped my bone. My left hand when I fell during a track meet and had to get surgery to reattach bones/ligaments. I think we have a trend going here…

Y is for yesterday’s highlight: A long drive with the Husband after church looking at houses. We’re not moving any time soon, but are going to upgrade in the next few years. It was fun to dream for a little while with him.

Z is for your time zone: Central Standard Time. It’s the BEST time zone in the world – TV shows are on at the perfect time.

Question: Choose a letter and answer for yourself!

I was just in Loft this weekend and passed on SO many cute things. It won’t be for long though because I’m already planning on going back next weekend….this time I vow to not walk out empty handed! :)

I’m left-handed too! I also need new clothes. I failed to buy anything new for winter, but now that’s spring’s here, I’m ready to make my wardrobe a little cuter!

How the heck do you do grocery shopping for $60 and can I be a part of it? I felt like we spent SO much yesterday, but that is because we ran out of necessities like olive oil. So naturally I buy the biggest bottle to replace it ;) Can’t wait for the farmers market…I’m hoping that will save me some money!

I’m left-handed too! I have this weird theory that more left-handers are vegetarian/vegan. Also, I know that it’s more common to be left-handed if you’re the first born (me) or had a traumatic birth (not me - unless my mom isn’t telling me something!)

cleaneatingchelsey March 12, 2012 at 6:51 pm

PS - That was a recycled photo. Sorry if it was misleading. However - in other news I got MORE than that for $60… way more!

Love this! I definitely want to fill it out! I can’t believe you are only 24!!! Not in a bad way or anything…you just seem so much more mature and have a more “grown up” life than a typical 24 year old! :)

I haven’t!

Ask me again in 5 minutes and my answer will change

Loved listening to her talk about where the song came from. I feel like I’ve heard about that before on the radio!

“Pick up the pace, Picante!” this is why you’re amazing!!!!! I hate when people brake approaching a light that they assume will turn yellow when it’s still GREEN!!!! But, now I don’t live within 35 miles of a stoplight so I’m okay with that.
I love living in CST- TV shows are on during the best time! That time when I lived in New York to teach it killed me to stay up so late to watch regular TV shows- come on people, don’t you know I’ve got to go to bed by now!!!!

Reply

My favorite ‘T’reat is a warm brownie with ice cream and my favorite ‘V’egetable is hard to choose! I would say broccoli, Brussels sprouts, or kale chips!

I am left-handed too and I need that shirt! I remember hearing that statistic about left-handed people living shorter lives when I was younger. I always thought it was because left-handed people had more stress in their lives because the world was made for right-handers : scissors, some utensils, spiral notebooks.
Also random fact: when I learned to write I couldn’t ever remember which way the letters were supposed to go, to the right or to the left. Which mean I wrote my name like this assylA. I’ve heard that’s also a left-handed person thing.

I saw this survey on Janetha’s blog! I have to get around to doing it too - probably when I’m back from my vacay in a couple of weeks. Love reading everyone’s answers! Haha I agree with you on the slow driving…can get annoying. But my BIGGER pet peeve in driving is people who don’t indicate. It’s the laziest thing in the world - people it takes one flick of a finger! - and indicating communicates SO much and can prevent so many accidents. It just drives me nuts. See? I’m already ranting. hahaha.

I also hate slow drivers or the ones that slow down just enough so you have to break stride when running but they don’t actually stop and just let you go. They just kind of “stroll” by. Either fly by me, or stop, but don’t linger. lol

and don’t worry, my butt has been growing too… not exactly where i wanted it to go, but i guess i’ll have to take it. why can’t it go to my boobs or something?! :) has that been kinda hard for you? grr it has for me.

It’s weird; my grandparents are both left handed but somehow my mom is right handed, and I’m right handed but both my brother and sister are left handed. That’s so weird how they don’t live as long as right handers. Ouch, you had to get surgery after falling in a track meet? That stinks! I didn’t know you ran track, which events did you run? I fell once but it was at not such a bad angle and in the 2-mile (not so fast) so I was fine and able to finish the race.
